TICKET PRICE
The purchase price of a single raffle ticket is $10.00 each or 6 tickets for $50.00. Checks or money orders should be made out to The District 57 Education Foundation. A “purchase” shall not occur and be binding on The District 57 Education Foundation until funds received for the same have cleared the bank. Checks or money orders should be made out to The District 57 Education Foundation. Credit cards accepted are Discover, Visa, and Master Card. Tickets may be purchased online at www.57edfoundation.org, by mail, or in person at District 57 Education Foundation fundraising events until the drawing on February 27, 2010. Ticket purchases are not tax deductible.

Each raffle ticket purchased shall constitute an "entry" into the raffle, and the person to whom the raffle ticket is registered shall be the "Entrant." Although more than one name may be provided on the ticket registration form, the ticket shall be registered to the first name listed, who shall constitute the sole Entrant for that ticket. The winning Entrant shall be the "winner" of the prize. Payment to or delivery of any prize will be made to the Entrant. The winner must supply his/her social security number before the prize is tendered. It is the sole responsibility of the Entrant to allocate a winning prize to other participants in case of a multiple entry registration, and the winning Entrant shall hold harmless The District 57 Education Foundation in case of conflicting claims or disputes among multiple claimants.

ELIGIBILITY
Purchasers of raffle tickets must be legal residents of the United States and 18 years of age or older on, or before, February 27, 2010. The Entrant must supply his/her Social Security number to receive winning prize. If an Entrant’s check or credit card is dishonored prior to the drawing, the entry ticket will be declared invalid, until a replacement is received. All check or credit card charges found dishonored after the drawing must be honored. A $20.00 charge will be assessed for non-sufficient funds or stop payment checks.

DRAWING
Completed requests must be in the possession of The District 57 Education Foundation by 3:00 PM CST on Saturday, February 27, 2010, unless otherwise personally delivered to an authorized representative of The Foundation before the time of the drawing. The raffle will take place on, February 27, 2010 with a random drawing during The District 57 Education Foundation’s dinner dance. If not sold out prior to the event, tickets will be available for purchase until the time of the drawing. Purchase of a raffle ticket does not entitle the purchaser entrance to the event. The winner, if not present, will be notified within seven business days. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to provide a valid, deliverable mailing address, phone and/or email address for notification.

PRIZES
The winner of the raffle will have the choice of Dream Trip or cash prize of $10,000. Within 14 days from notification, the winner must inform The District 57 Education Foundation which prize he/she has selected. All federal, state and local income, sales and/or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the prize, are the responsibility of the holder of the winning ticket. The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, the price of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution. Winner must complete a W-9 form before receiving prize. Check with your qualified financial advisor for additional information.

Attendees of school events may be eligible for cash drawing for $100.00 based on that night’s site sales of 100 or more of tickets. The ticket drawn for this prize will be re-entered in the drawing for the grand prize.

If fewer than 2400 tickets are sold by February 27, 2010, The District 57 Education Foundation reserves the right to pay one-half of the collected ticket money in lieu of the trip or cash prize.

WAIVER/LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Entrants release The District 57 Education Foundation, and its respective board, committee members, officers, volunteers, employees and representative agents from any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion and possession of the prize. Any liability of The District 57 Education Foundation shall be limited to the ticket price paid. In the case of a dispute, The District 57 Education Foundation’s decision shall be final.

Entrant agrees to allow The District 57 Education Foundation to use his/her name, and image without any compensation for any promotional activity related to this or any future raffle. Any and all addresses and contact information of the purchaser will not be released to the public.
