The District 57 Education Foundation is an independent non-profit organization formed by Mount Prospect community members. The Foundation’s mission is to enhance the education of School District 57 students by generating and allocating resources through partnerships with the business community, school administration, teachers, parents, and students.

The District 57 Education Foundation funded 11 grants totaling over $11,000 today, benefiting students at Westbrook, Fairview, Lions Park and Lincoln.
Teachers applied for the grants in the areas of curriculum, technology and wellness. Approved grants include:
Westbrook: Size/Age appropriate computer furniture for the EC environment.
Lions: A new digital camera for the art department to create digital portfolios of the art projects done by students at Lions Park.
Fairview: Readers’ Workshop books, new instruments in the music room, math books for the LRC, a literacy project for students with cognitive disabilities, funding for a contest to promote writing, and new sports equipment.
Lincoln: 2 new French Horns for the music department, a digital camera for the yearbook club, and iPods for the LRC to use with audio book downloads.
In addition, $500 was granted to the principal fund at each school and $2,450 came from the memorial fund for the science lab at Lincoln.
