There are currently 14 dedicated Mount Prospect residents serving on the 2015-2016 Board of Directors of the District 57 Education Foundation. Our mission is to enhance the education of District 57 students. We are a small but committed group of parents and community leaders.

The diversity of our backgrounds can be best understood by reading more about who we are:

Larry Kowalczyk – Larry Kowalczyk and his wife Eileen have lived in Mount Prospect for over 14 years. They have five children, four of whom are at Westbrook, Fairview and Lincoln Schools. This is Larry’s second year on the District 57 Education Foundation Board, serving as Co-Chair for 2014-15. Larry is a partner/owner at the law firm of Querrey & Harrow, Ltd. in Chicago. Larry grew up in Mount Prospect and is excited to have an opportunity to give back to the community.

Lisa Cassaidy – Lisa and her husband Kevin have lived in Mount Prospect for 15 years and have 2 children. Their son attends Lincoln Middle School and their daughter attends Fairview. Lisa is a civil engineer and works part time for V3 Companies in land development. She looks forward to being involved with the Education Foundation.


Cherie Friar – Cherie and her husband Brendan have lived in Mount Prospect for the last 15 years. They have 2 boys attending Lions Park. Cherie has over 15 years of Marketing and Event Planning experience. She is actively involved in supporting the March of Dimes and continues to plan corporate events part-time.

Sara McDonagh – Sara and her husband have lived in Mount Prospect for 10 years and have two children who attend Westbrook and Fairview Schools.  This is Sara’s second year as publicity chair on the Education Foundation Board.  She recently accepted a position within District 57 as the science curriculum assistant.  She also teaches yoga at the Mount Prospect RecPlex.  Sara and her family are happy to be part of this great community.

Kathleen Vegter – Kathleen has been a Mount Prospect resident for 11 years. She and her husband have 2 daughters, one attends Lincoln Middle School and the other is 3 years old. She is a part-time kindergarten teacher and enjoys using her knowledge about schools to help meet the goals of the Education Foundation.
